How does it work?

Have content added to your website every week

With our service, news data is fed to your site, with your fonts, colours and design. What is involved is a simple link from your website. When customers click on the link they stay on your site, which is fed the news by our server.

What kind of information do we supply / post on your site?

Basically any new information about importing or exporting that can be of interest to a customs brokers's clients:

• News about international trade in goods or services.

• General information about the technicalities of importing and exporting.

• Sourcing information and trade opportunities for importers.

• Marketing information and tips for exporters.

• Commented tribunal and court decisions of general interest.

• A weekly compendium of every new customs publication.

Note that we will never post any information from or about other brokers, from "self clearance" software companies, or even from the Canada Border Services Agency, if we feel that it is aimed at circumventing the use of customs brokerage services.

Email weekly news summary to your customers

Draw your customers to your website every week with an email listing the new articles posted on your site.

Once a week we send you a pre-formatted message which you can forward to your clients through your own email software and mailing list.

Customers appreciate regular communications from you as you are their professional service provider. The news service can be password protected to make it accessible to your clients only.

The password is the same for all clients and is changed as required to weed out ex-clients and unsuccessful prospects. The current password is sent out with every weekly update email.

Add your own notices and articles at a reasonable cost

An extra feature of this service is the possibility of adding your own notices and postings. They will be posted with the weekly news.

Exclusivity

The number of Customs Brokers using our service is limited within geographical areas to keep a certain exclusive value for our clients.

Flexibility

Most of our clients have the news automatically inserted into their sites. On the other hand, a few others have their own news database system within their web sites. We grant them a licence and they pick and paste our articles to their own system.

Note: Folstar's news service is not a "franchise". It is totally transparent. We do not and never will refer to ourselves in the database, nor anywhere that could appear on your website. You choose the name for the service (The International Monitor, The Trade Bugle, etc) and let your customers think that it all originates in your offices.

Copyright issues: It is illegal to reproduce articles from newspapers, magazines or websites without explicit permission from the owners. We write our own articles and news items and sometimes complement with open copyright material, thus ensuring the legality of the news material appearing within your website.

Are we new, will we last? Our news service has been running without interruption since June 2000. We have produced over five thousand news articles since.
